Successful Project Leadership (1 day)

Project managers and leaders face unique challenges in completing projects successfully. They must satisfy a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, while often relying on people and other resources that are not under their direct control. Project managers may be leading several projects, or performing additional non-project duties. But the project goals remain constant - on time, within budget, a quality product, and satisfied stakeholders.

This course examines the skills needed to lead projects from three perspectives; leading the project team, leading beyond the team, and leadership and the PM process tools.

Leaders in IT, Engineering and other functions often deal with tens or hundreds of projects, all of which demand scarce funding and resources. The burgeoning field of Portfolio Management offers the concepts and tools to make sound, consistent decisions about which projects to approve, as well as methods to continually track and evaluate the ongoing relevance and success of projects over time.
